West countryman and Motorsport Events Company MD Ed Moore took victory in the 6th running of the “Edwina Overend Trophy” race at Mallory Park Circuit last weekend meaning he took the honours for the second time. This Formula Ford trophy race is the pinacle of single seater racing at the Leicestershire track and Moore was overjoyed and lifting the trophy once again.

Run in honour of the former Managing Director of Mallory Park Motorsport Ltd and long-time member and competition secretary of the British Racing and Sports Car Club Midland Centre, Edwina’s Husband Ron and other members of the family were on hand to present the Trophy in her memory, keeping Edwina’s name linked with both Mallory Park and her favourite class of racing.

Ed took pole position for the race and dominated with a lights to flag victory. Ed who has been a Formula Ford Champion six times said on the podium after the race “Edwina was the heart of this fabulous circuit and is still missed. Taking the win here today is very emotional”.
